Week 86: Beach and Fish
Hey everybody,
Hope you have all had the best week ever! I spent all of
Tuesday in a small little town about 45 minutes from Tumbes. It was super dope
because literally all day while knocking doors or teaching lessons I got to
stare at the ocean and there was also had a beautiful breeze!
On Wednesday we had an elders quorum activity where we
played soccer and made Ceviche. And since as elders we have a rule that we cant
play soccer with members we just helped the stake patriarch make the ceviche. It
was actually really cool and I learned how to make it. We made a huge platter
of 4 kilos of fish. All it was is 4 kilos of fish, 80 limes, 6 red onions,
cilantro, salt and spicy peppers. The only problem was that after it was made we
forgot to assign people to bring plates and spoons. So we found 5 metal spoons
and all ate out of the big platter just passing around the spoons. Not the most
sanitary but it was super super delicious!! me and my comp walked out waddling
because our stomachs were going to explode. Then we went to a family home
evening and they gave us more food and we almost died but the food was super
good!!!
Also this week I planned and organized an activity were we
had the entire zone (16 missionaries) go to the main square and I made signs
that said "free English classes" and for about 2 hours we went around
talking with everybody in the square inviting them to our free English classes.
It was pretty good and we talked with a lot of people!
Also today we went back to the beach and played soccer on a
turf field then rented hammocks and just chilled staring a the ocean in a
hammock.
I love and miss you all so much, Every day here is the best
day ever!

Week 85: John 14:15
Hey all,
This week was really good and passed by really fast. Today
also disappeared. All we did is play soccer and go shopping and then it was
already time to write.
Not much else happened. We walked by the movie theatre
Saturday around 6pm and there was a huuuggeee line of people just waiting to
get tickets to see the new end game movie. It caused a lot of hype around here
and everybody says it was super good!!!
One thing that stuck out from the week is that I had one
line stuck in my head most of the week. "Through our obedience to the
commandments, We receive blessings!" Its so true, that all God wants is
for us to keep is commandments, "If you love me, keep my
commandments"- John 14:15 and I know the blessings follow!!!
That's about it for the week. Its just been super hot and
super sweaty but the work is good and I'm having the best day ever!!!

Week 84: Bus, Starbucks, and Pomegranates
Hey all,
This was a really good week. We had to travel to Piura this
week, 6 hours there and 6 hours back. The highlight of the trip was the 2
Starbucks blended creams I drank. I tried the new cookies and cream flavor, but it just
tasted like water, big let down.
Although the craziest thing that happened was Saturday
night. (a need to know is that in our bed room we have a sliding glass door to a
little balcony outside). First off there was a huge 15 year olds birthday party
out front and it was blasting music and we couldn't sleep, but at like 10:30 it
just started down pouring super hard and ruined the party. So we actually got
to sleep pretty good. But then at 3 am I was woken up to the loudest noise I have ever heard. I look down and saw that a huge gust of wind blew down our
sliding glass door and it shatter all over the floor. Then at 3 am we spent 30
minutes cleaning it up. And then I actually had to sleep with a blanket and a
jacket because there was so much wind that I was super cold.
I also found some super cheap pomegranates for 30
American cents each and they were soooooo goooood.
Also today for pday we played soccer for 3 hours and then
just sat in the mall food court in the air conditioning playing Uno. I was to broke
to buy any of the food so I just ate bread. (I'm broke because I lent money and
the Elder hasn't payed me back).
But yesterday night we had a miracle. Our last appointment
for the day fell because she was not at home. We did not know where to go or
what to do when I had the impression to go visit a family of members who didn't
go to church for the last two weeks. We went to the house and found the family
and one of their friends who was very interested in our message and told us
that he wants to go to church next week. I know it was the holy spirit guiding us
to this house and I felt great peace.
This week we read my favorite parable of the lost sheep. I
always love the love that God and Jesus Christ have for each one of us. We are
always failing and sinning but anyway God is there looking for us and helping us
get back on the road!
Also Sunday morning at 9:30 we got a text from our bishop
letting me and my comp know we both had talks. It was quite the surprise. I threw a quick 10 minute talk together before church started at 10.
I love and miss you all so much! Everyday is the best day
ever!!
