Week 61: Cemeteries

Hey everybody,

This week was the bomb. After feeling sick Monday through Thursday, Friday I felt a lot better, and now I am back to good!
Halloween this week was a bust. I couldn't eat candy because my stomach was hurting but I had bought so much. So I decided to load up my proselyting bag and during the afternoon every kid that I saw I handed them candy. I called it reverse tricker treating. The kids didn't come to my door, I went to their door and gave them candy. Because down here nobody celebrates Halloween. But here the big tradition is the day of the dead. Which is the 1st and 2nd  of November.  Everybody goes to the cemetery to visit their lost family members. So as a group of missionaries we went and tried contacting people and teaching them the plan of salvation. It was good, there were thousands of people in the cemetery so it worked out well. Peruvian cemeteries are a lot different than American cemeteries. Here they build big buildings, like 30 feet high, and have little window slots where they put the bodies. Its super weird but also super cool. The cemetery just feels like a concrete jungle.

Also yesterday we had 3 different power outages. The entire town just went black, each one lasted about 15 minutes. It was super cool!!!! We also had a barbecue with some member here this week, not like an American barbecue. 3/10

We also found a bunny in our back yard this week, it was all black with a small little white spot. We caught it and took some photos.

That's about it for the week! I love you all a ton!!! Everyday here is the best day ever!!!!

Love,

Elder Luke Gruber
